Before forming Brady Mallalieu Architects in 1987 I gained wide experience working in Toronto and Copenhagen and have been working in London for over 20 years. I have developed a particular interest in housing, community and educational projects. I have worked on many award winning projects and give talks on sustainable design. I promote architecture and sustainable design to the public, in schools and in the media.

With RIBA Women In Architetcure I curate the DiverseCity exhibition promoting diversity in our profession. The Diversecity exhibition has been on a world tour since 2004. It has visited 24 cities and will complete in 18/19 Oct 2010 at RIBA with an international symposium
I have worked on many architectural educational projects with many organisations for the past 16 years including;- Artsinform, CABE, RIBA, RIAI, MOMA, Crafts Council, DCMS, Irish Architecture Foundaiton and The Building Exploratory Hackney and currently Open City
TV and Media: I also work as a broadcaster and recently worked on a six part TV series for Channel 4 - “The Home Show” showcasing the best architecture and interiors in six cities in Europe.(See film clips on www.angelabradydesign.com ) Also on ITV ‘Building the Dream’ a contemporary new build house in SomersetI have appeared both in the National and professional press and on television and radio on a regular basis promoting architecture and design. I filmed a tour of Dublin's new architecture for the RTE TV arts programme based on our guide book on contemporary architecture and appeared as an architectural advisor on Channel 5's TV series 'Hot Property' and BBC3's Radio debates on architetcure in 2005/06/07 and RTE and TV3 in 2008/9
In 2007 I filmed a documentary for Teacher TV on Inspirational Leaders and Jan 2009 on 'Accessible design' for RIBA with Sunand Prasad PPRIBA

I was born in Dublin and graduated from Bolton St. Dublin School of Architecture. I qualified as an architect in 1984 in London. Prior to that I did a post graduate course in Denmark for 18 months and worked in large offices in Canada for a year before coming to London to work for GMW and SEH then setting up in private practice with Robin Mallalieu in 1987, an award winning design led practice specialising in contemporary sustainable design
Brady Mallalieu Architects work appears regularly in the architectural press and in exhibitions in the UK and Europe. We have many design awards including recent Evening Standard award for best housing development for 200 homes at Mastmaker Rd London E14 (published in Architecture Today May 2010) We also work on housing, health care and educational projects
I am a regular RIBA debater on BBC and RTE radio. I give about 10 public talks a year. The most recent in Sheffield Cardiff and RIBA London. I am an elected Council member of RIAI for 12 of past 20 years and chair the RIAI London Forum - throwing one of best social parties to celebrate Irish Architecture annually in London. I am an active campaigner for better design and our environment. I am passionate about giving a better understanding of architecture to the public. I have the proven communication skill necessary for public life as a President of RIBA
I will voice the opinions and concerns of our members and not be one who cuts ribbons to open supermarkets!
Education/Prof Dev: I have worked with RIBA education for many years and am a past RIBA validation inspector. I was external examiner at Brighton, and Dublin schools of architecture and currently at the Mackintosh, Glasgow. I am an external critic at Cardiff and London Metropolitan University (also designed by BMA) where I am involved with the mentoring scheme and the returners course, to encourage people back in to the workforce after a career break. I also give talks on our work in several universities and institutions.
Schools and public engagement: I am active active in creating and delivering architectural design workshops in schools for over 12 years, inspiring kids about our build environment. I work with RIBA, RIAI, Architecture Centres Network, Open City, Galleries and Museums engaging architecture with the public. I was an active Trustee of the Building Exploratory Hackney architecture Centre for 8 years. I am a STEMnet Ambassador
I am part of the team that set up RIBA “Architects For Change” 10 years ago and chaired of Women In Architecture for 5 years, including regional networking events and holding seminars at RIBA. I now curate the world tour of Diversecity which has been to over 20 cities around the world promoting the best of Women and BAME architects, it will conclude in an international RIBA conf 18/19 Oct 2010. With other European organisations we set up a network of architects. I am an Ambassador for the Cabinets Government Equality Office
In 2007 the British Council invited me to coordinate the Near East North Africa Women @ Work professional exchange with 6 London based architects and was twinned with Palestine. It was a 3 year programme of learning from different cultures involving different professional women in 6 countries. In 2008 I coordinated the international seminar in Jordan on behalf of women architects in UK
