A new open air theatre structure replaces the original structure which was vandalised beywon repair. It is a community led open air venue for music, theatre and dance. The local community raised funds for its reinstatement and the new building form and materials have been carefully chosen to be robust and durable, whilst complimenting the natural park setting.

The existing concrete stage has been re-used and a ‘back of house’ changing room and store has been formed with gabion stone baskets which will become overgrown over time. Cor-ten steel screens and four overhanging canopies create a permanent stage set. As the performance season is quite short the structure has an abstract, enigmatic quality when viewed across the park having sculptural and visual interest all year around.
