Leonard Place Shared Ownership Housing

Careful consideration of overlooking and daylight has allowed the redevelopment of a very tight brownfield backland site between two existing Victorian terraces. Seven L-shaped courtyard houses have been oriented towards the afternoon sun and away from the windows in properties surrounding the site. They enjoy both views into their own courtyard space and more distant views parallel to the existing terraces. The new houses are constructed to be as low as possible, particularly along the northern edge at the rear of the gardens to Clonbrock Road. A four storey infill house completes the terrace to Allen Road.

Crisp detailing and material choices complement the careful window arrangements. The interiors of each courtyard are lined with timber shingles.
